Région: Galicie. Climat frais, atlantique, pas du tout l’Espagne sec et chaud.
Appéllation: Ribeira Sacra, dans le zone du Quiroga-Bibei à l’est.
Viticulture: Wow. Des vieilles vignes de plusieurs cépages (Mouraton, Mencía, Garnacha Tintorera, Marenzao, Gran Negro) toutes co-plantés sur une pente raide en terrasse. Biologique, travaillé à main.
Vinification: Fermentation indigène dans les vieilles fûts de chêne et élevage en barriques de 225 et 500L.
Dégustation: Wow. Blueberries, violets, and hot spices behind a wall of smoky, meaty tar and bitter black tea. Very complex nose that recalls Rhône syrah. The palate is firm, with a lightning backbone of acidity and tight tannins. The palate is dark, smoky, with the violets and blueberries dancing around the dark centre. Medium to light body but intense with acidity and tannins.
