Region: Sardinia! Our first wine from this Island off the coast of Eastern Italy.
Viticulture: Organic Cannonau. This is the name for Grenache in Sardegna. Granite soils.
Vinification: Natural fermentation in cement and aging in oak.
Tasting: This is a wine for people who want to be punched in the face. The nose is strong. Dark jammy fruit, smoky char, kirsch, black pepper, coffee, tobacco. The palate is very heavy, and the oak is very obvious, finishing on bitter cedar and spicebox dark fruit. A bit of sweetness behind all of the intensity.
Not for me, but for some.
